MAP BOOK

I knew I had it somewhere. I dug around under my bed and in my closet. I found all sorts of old school books and notebooks still filled up with all my notes from college. I found a Humboldt Park Chicago neighborhood directory, a directory for River North, a book about rivers, another book about forest preserves, but I never found that map book I knew I had. When I bought my first new car 5 years ago, my father had given me a map book so that I would never get lost when I was out there on the road. Most parents would have given their children small, thin map books with a little flashlight so they could read it at night. But leave it to my father to take things too far. He gave me this thick book of maps that weighed down my backpack. I couldn’t even fit into the glove compartment of my car. I’ll give him credit for one thing however. It is a great book of maps. All of the city and the neighboring suburbs are shown in good detail. My problem is I have no idea where I put it. Come to think of it, maybe I did leave it somewhere in my car.
